What you will do

• Design and evolve AI services across modalities, including embeddings, OCR, speech-to-text, and LLM completions.
• Develop production-grade orchestration flows for LLM-based agents, covering tool calling, routing, and failure handling.
• Build and optimize retrieval pipelines using RAG and adjacent technologies for structured and unstructured data.
• Implement scalable, event-driven data ingestion and processing pipelines for large investigative datasets.
• Maintain serverless infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code and Docker-based deployments on AWS.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on backend and AI engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in a backend language with strong fundamentals in async programming and clean API design.
• Hands-on production experience with LLM orchestration, agent runtimes, or multi-step AI systems.
• Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS systems with strict tenant data isolation.
• Proficiency with AWS serverless services: Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, S3, OpenSearch, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
• Solid understanding of event-driven architecture and distributed system design.

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases, search index design, and retrieval infrastructure.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CDK or Terraform.
• Familiarity with multimodal processing for video, image, text, and audio.
• Experience working in privacy-sensitive, regulated, or security-critical environments.
• Experience with Python ecosystem: FastAPI, Pydantic, and SQLAlchemy.
