Welsh Language Development Tutor (Social Work): Leading the development and support of Welsh-medium opportunities for students within the BA (Hons) Social Work programme with an accent on bilingual delivery, academic support, and staff development. Focus on ensuring high-quality practice learning modules, collaborating with external partners, and contributing to the Faculty’s research and scholarship profile.

Location: Must be based in the UK, with a hybrid working pattern expected (approx. 2 days per week in the Cardiff office).

Salary: £47,389 – £56,535 (pro rata for part-time hours).

What you will do

• Promote and develop opportunities for the use of Welsh in social work practice modules.
• Provide academic and practice-based support to Welsh-speaking students.
• Brief and support Associate Lecturers and Practice Tutors on bilingual delivery.
• Collaborate with external partners like Social Care Wales and Higher Education Institutions.
• Contribute to the Faculty’s research and scholarship portfolio.
• Undertake marketing and recruitment activities to promote the Social Work degree.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both Welsh and English.
• Professional qualification in Social Work and a degree in a related subject.
• Experience and understanding of professional Social Work practice in Wales.
• Willingness to travel around Wales and to Milton Keynes.
• Ability to work co-operatively in teams and undertake initiatives independently.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Social Work education in Wales.
