Systems Administrator (Associate)

TL;DR

Systems Administrator (Associate) (Linux/Kubernetes): Supporting and maintaining containerized infrastructure and critical production applications for payment technology services with an accent on OpenShift, Kubernetes operations, automation, and service stability. Focus on building self-service infrastructure for GenAI workloads, solving production issues through root cause analysis, and strengthening systems through security remediation and ITIL processes.

Location: Hybrid role based in Basingstoke, United Kingdom; office attendance expectations will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager.

What you will do

• Operate and support container platforms including Docker UCP, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Deploy, configure, scale, and manage containerized applications.
• Develop automation, scripts, templates, and infrastructure-as-code modules for standardized environment creation and self-service operations.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure using tools such as Helm, Sysdig, Prometheus, Grafana, and FluentD.
• Perform incident triage, root cause analysis, remediation, vulnerability patching, and defect resolution.
• Partner with Platform, Engineering, Delivery, and application teams while documenting operational procedures and following ITIL practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent.
• Knowledge or experience with Unix/Linux system administration and container technologies.
• Scripting experience with Python and familiarity with configuration management or infrastructure tools such as Chef, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Understanding of cloud platforms, networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP, and ITIL v4 processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and independent working skills; availability for scheduled on-call support.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
• Understanding of software engineering concepts, project management methodologies, and infrastructure self-service practices.
