TL;DR

Senior Test Automation Software Engineer (Python): Developing and supporting automated test software and validation frameworks for complex integrated hardware and software systems with an accent on RF, comms, and embedded systems. Focus on automating commercial test equipment, hardware integration, and improving test reliability in R&D and production environments.

Location: On-site in El Segundo, CA. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Salary: $130k–210k

What you will do

• Develop Python-based automation frameworks for COTS instrumentation and embedded systems.
• Create and execute automated verification and validation test procedures.
• Integrate and troubleshoot test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and VNAs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies and interfaces.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCCA) and system integration troubleshooting.
• Support the deployment of test systems in manufacturing and field environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience (or 3+ with an advanced degree).
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience automating commercial test equipment via SCPI, Ethernet, Serial, USB, or GPIB.
• Proficiency with Linux systems and scripting (Bash, MATLAB, or C++).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Experience with RF/radar systems and ATE/manufacturing test systems.
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, and software configuration management.
• Experience developing operator GUIs or automated data analysis tools.
