Frontend/Backend/Fullstack Developer - Mid Level (Ruby on Rails)

What you will do

• Architect and develop UI components using React, Redux, TypeScript, and VA.gov design libraries.
• Optimize backend systems in Ruby on Rails, including RESTful APIs, JSON controllers, and Sidekiq workers.
• Implement AI/LLM workflows, RAG pipelines, vector search, and model orchestration in AWS.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers while fostering high‑quality engineering practices.
• Ensure performance, security, scalability, and Section 508 accessibility compliance across the full stack.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps automation.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in React, Redux, TypeScript, and Ruby on Rails.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
• Experience building and optimizing RESTful APIs within distributed systems.
• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting the VA, VA.gov architecture, or other federal agencies.
• Familiarity with federal enterprise systems such as CorpDB, MPI, BDN, and VBMS.
• Experience deploying AI or ML features in FedRAMP or government environments.
