TL;DR

Electrical Project Engineer (EHV Substation): Designing and coordinating high-voltage substation projects up to 765kV with an accent on protection, control, and physical design deliverables. Location: Hybrid. Must be based in or be able to relocate to specific US locations (Cary, Chattanooga, Orlando, Phoenix, Tualatin, Atlanta, or Ann Arbor).

What you will do

  • Act as a Technical Specialist or Project Lead for substation projects up to 765kV.
  • Develop protection and control design deliverables, including protective relays, panel arrangements, and AC/DC schematics.
  • Create physical design deliverables such as yard layout plans, grounding, and lightning protection.
  • Oversee quality reviews of electrical substation design packages and prepare equipment specifications (BOM).
  • Coordinate project activities with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Manage design budgets, schedules, and provide mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
  • Experience in Extra High Voltage (EHV) substation design (500kV+).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to complete pre-employment background checks and drug screens.
