Director Public Policy

TL;DR

Director Public Policy (Real Estate): Develop and implement public policy strategies to enable modern rentals, real estate, and financial services with an accent on policy analysis, business impact assessment, and stakeholder engagement. Focus on shaping legislation, building external partnerships, and leading cross-functional alignment on policy priorities.

Location: Remote (USA only, any of the 50 United States with limited exceptions)

Salary: $191,000–$321,000 annually (varies by state)

What you will do

• Develop and implement public policy strategies aligned with organizational goals, monitoring the policy landscape.
• Lead cross-functional engagement with legal, compliance, product teams to analyze legislative and regulatory impacts and form policy recommendations.
• Manage operations by translating strategic goals into plans, partnering with advocacy and public affairs on messaging and priorities.
• Engage internal and external stakeholders, develop policy positions, and serve as subject matter expert on policy issues.
• Build and manage relationships with regulatory and industry organizations.
• Lead a team of four direct reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred
• 15+ years in public policy and operations, including 5+ years in people leadership
• Strong understanding of policy development, operations management, and strategic planning
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
• Strong written, oral communication, and negotiation skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment, manage priorities, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
