Senior Software Quality Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Software Quality Engineer (Finance): Leads design, execution, and oversight of complex test strategies for high-quality software products in Finance domain with an accent on data-intensive testing, automation maturity, and risk identification. Focus on testing large datasets, MDM systems, databases, cloud tools, and workflow integrations while mentoring juniors and partnering with Engineering, Product, and DevOps.

Location: Hybrid in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada (at least four full days each week in office, shifts overlapping Eastern time zone up to 11 EST with occasional off-hours support).

Salary: $100,000 - $110,000/year

What you will do

• Lead test planning, strategy, design, environment and data setup, defect and configuration management.
• Execute tests on large datasets across Microsoft SQL, Snowflake, Postgres databases; create stored procedures, views, tables.
• Test Master Data Management (MDM) systems, perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot defects.
• Monitor logs using Unix commands and AWS tools (S3, Secrets Manager); address technical issues cross-functionally.
• Publish results, prepare status reports, track defects through lifecycle, ensure alignment with business requirements.
• Communicate progress in Agile projects, contribute to test metrics, foster teamwork.

Requirements

• 7-9 years in software quality assurance/testing.
• Experience in Financial services/Asset Management preferred; Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP/EPM.
• Bachelor of Technology or MCA.
• Strong database skills (Microsoft SQL, Snowflake, Postgres); Unix, AWS, Python or similar.
• Workflow tools (AutoSys, Airflow, Stonebranch); Agile methodology.
• Excellent communication, detail-oriented, flexible for shifts and collaboration.

Nice to have

• Test automation for large data projects.
• Knowledge of Alteryx, Informatica, DBT.
• Familiarity with BitBucket or source control tools.
