What you will do

• Lead design and delivery of closure commodities to meet quality, cost, and timing targets
• Manage engineering releases and technical documentation like FESO and EIDs
• Drive virtual build phases and support physical builds, resolving issues to completion
• Coordinate cross-functional design and assembly reviews
• Conduct failure mode prevention activities including DFMEA and lessons learned
• Lead root cause analysis for issues and work with suppliers on manufacturability
• Define performance targets via simulation and validation, manage CAD resources

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience
• Strong background in large complex metal pressings including Super Plastic Forming (SPF)
• Experience with closure systems: doors, bonnets, rear closures
• Knowledge of extrusions, castings, composite materials and processes (SMC, RTM, foam core)
• Proven delivery of components in automotive or similar engineering environment

Nice to have

• Experience with interface matrices, commodity and location strategies
• Familiarity with manufacturing assembly requirements and surface compatibility
• Supporting FMA activities including rigs and bucks development
