What you will do
- Lead multiple Mason pods owning delivery outcomes including scope, milestones, quality, and on-time execution
- Translate ambiguous requests into clear plans, acceptance criteria, and execution strategies
- Set and enforce production-quality standards for AI builds covering testing, monitoring, documentation, and rollout plans
- Serve as technical escalation for complex issues in auth, integrations, data modeling, reliability, and failure recovery
- Drive prioritization, capacity planning, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and leadership development
- Partner with stakeholders to manage tradeoffs, timelines, expectations, and client-facing escalations
Requirements
- Communicate clearly and fluently in English — written and verbal — to align technical and non-technical stakeholders
- 5+ years building production systems as software/automation engineer + 2+ years engineering management or tech-leadership (people management preferred)
- Managed multiple concurrent workstreams with shared standards and predictable delivery
- Deep comfort with integrations: APIs, webhooks, auth (OAuth/API keys), data stores (Postgres/Supabase)
- Strong reliability and quality mindset: idempotency, retries, testing, monitoring, observability
- Experience with applied AI: prompt iteration, eval harnesses, human-in-the-loop QA, LLM observability
- Real examples of coaching, feedback, performance management, and end-to-end hiring loops
