What you will do

• Implement secure communication and real-time messaging optimized for high-latency or disrupted networks
• Optimize web performance including bundle size, load times, memory usage, and asset delivery
• Design and maintain shared React component libraries and architectural patterns for consistency and scalability
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API integration and data synchronization in constrained networks
• Contribute to open-source React codebase with resilience-focused solutions
• Work with product managers and designers on prototypes emphasizing graceful degradation
• Implement testing strategies (unit, E2E with Cypress/Playwright) under network stress
• Debug cross-browser/platform issues and mentor on React best practices

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field/experience
• 5+ years professional experience developing with React
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React ecosystem (hooks, state management, components)
• Deep understanding of browser networking (WebSockets, HTTP/2) for high-latency/unstable connections
• Proficiency with AI/LLM tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot)
• Experience with state management (Redux, Zustand) and async data handling
• Familiarity with web app testing frameworks and debugging tools
• For candidates residing in the U.S.: ability to obtain/maintain U.S. government security clearance; must be U.S. citizen and eligible under clearance requirements
• Meet eligibility for access to export-controlled information (EAR, ITAR)
• Strong problem-solving, independent work in remote distributed team, excellent communication across time zones
