Academic Research Analyst

TL;DR

What you will do

• Complete analytics projects and rapid-turnaround requests for internal teams including Programs and Leadership.
• Analyze IHS activities and partner data to measure effectiveness and institutional impact.
• Extract, organize, and prepare datasets from CRM and other data systems for reporting.
• Maintain clear documentation of assumptions, definitions, and methodologies used in analyses.
• Identify opportunities to improve analysis workflows through repeatable queries, templates, and dashboards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social science, economics, public policy, statistics, data analytics, or a comparable discipline.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States (sponsorship is not available).
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct data analysis and produce clear written reports for non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize work in a high-demand environment.

Nice to have

• Coursework or experience in statistics, quantitative methods, or program evaluation.
• Familiarity with analytical tools such as SQL, Python, R, or Tableau.
• Experience working with nonprofit, academic, or research datasets.
• Familiarity with academic research environments and classical liberal ideas.
