Associate Fire Engineer

Location: Birmingham, United Kingdom; hybrid working with site visits and office-based collaboration.

What you will do

• Assist and manage a team of fire consultants and provide advice to the Partner.
• Deliver fire consultancy services including fire engineering, compartmentation surveys, fire quality monitoring, fire risk assessments, and building safety management.
• Visit client sites and provide fire safety advice, guidance, and training.
• Liaise with enforcing authorities on behalf of clients and advise on fire safety standards and best practice.
• Support PQQ and bid documents, quality assurance, client compliance, and technical delivery.
• Develop the fire consultancy service and support management financial reporting.

Requirements

• Minimum Level 5 qualification in a fire discipline.
• Robust knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and strong technical delivery experience.
• Membership of IFE, IFSM, or an equivalent professional body.
• Ability to direct and manage complex projects proactively and diligently, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
• Successful line management experience and experience developing team members.
• Experience developing new relationships, securing new business, and building long-term client relationships.
• Client-facing approach with high standards of technical delivery.
• Positive, proactive, flexible, motivated team player who shares knowledge and supports colleagues.

Nice to have

• Engineering-related degree.
• IEng or CEng status.
