Director, Process Safety

Location: Remote - Europe, or offices in Belfast, Birmingham, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Manchester; flexible and hybrid working arrangements are supported where aligned with client, team and project needs.

What you will do

• Lead the development and delivery of a specialist process safety capability across the UK and Ireland.
• Provide senior technical input on fire and gas detection, gas dispersion modelling, hazard analysis, mitigation systems, facility siting and safety engineering.
• Advise clients on facility modifications, ageing assets and energy transition risks, including hydrogen and battery energy storage systems.
• Build senior client relationships and convert technical expertise into commercially successful workstreams.
• Lead proposals, fee generation, strategic growth planning and market-facing activities.
• Mentor multidisciplinary technical teams and support quality, governance and capability development.

Requirements

• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional standing.
• Extensive experience in process safety, fire engineering or industrial risk management.
• Recognized expertise in fire and gas systems, hazard analysis and safety studies.
• Strong commercial judgment with a proven ability to win and develop business.
• Established industry reputation, professional network and experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams.
