What you will do

• Conduct site investigations to record evidence and analyze fire incidents.
• Review technical documentation, including manuals and maintenance records.
• Prepare detailed technical expert witness reports for court proceedings.
• Provide impartial, evidence-based testimony in construction and legal disputes.
• Collaborate with solicitors, developers, and public bodies to deliver expert opinions.
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with other appointed experts.

Requirements

• Degree in Fire Engineering or a relevant field.
• Established professional background in Fire Safety Engineering, including cladding and site experience.
• Expert witness experience in UK and/or Irish jurisdictions.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
• Experience in fire safety design for residential apartment and commercial buildings.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to lay audiences.

Nice to have

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with IFE or Engineers Ireland.
• Experience with high-profile litigation, tribunals, or public inquiries.
• Membership in professional bodies like IFE or Engineers Ireland.
• Experience with cross-border casework and multi-jurisdictional standards.
