Field Service Technician I - IAD

TL;DR

Field Service Technician I (Security Detection): Installs, repairs, and maintains trace and X-ray security screening equipment in field locations around Dulles, VA with an accent on meeting daily service needs and driving customer satisfaction. Focus on troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems, documenting repairs, managing parts inventory, and providing customer training and technical support.

Location: Onsite daily travel required in and around Dulles, VA area, including Washington Dulles airport. Must pass federal background investigation and TSA vetting for Sensitive Security Information access. US Personal Security Clearance may be required.

Salary: $46,080 - $95,520 per year

What you will do

• Install, repair, and maintain equipment in the field; provide customer training as required.
• Document inspections, maintenance, repair work, and submit paperwork timely.
• Order, install, and manage repair parts cycle time.
• Review logs for issues, prepare reports, and assess product performance for improvements.
• Provide technical support to customers and participate in service sales opportunities.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated; comply with health, safety, and export regulations.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree, trade certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical), military training, or 1-3 years equivalent experience in electrical/mechanical field service.
• 1-3 years experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic systems.
• Computer literacy in MS Office and aptitude for specialized software.
• Excellent communication, customer focus, teamwork, and ability to travel at short notice.
• Physical ability to lift 80 lbs, push/pull 200 lbs, maneuver heavy equipment, and work in extreme environments.
• Must be self-motivated, reliable, and able to multitask.
