Focus on applying posting logic, validating journal vouchers, and strengthening data governance across DoD financial systems.

Location: Hybrid in Washington, DC metro area; must be local and work onsite 3 days per week

What you will do

• Provide expert support for financial reconciliation, reporting, and analysis using USSGL.
• Prepare, review, and validate Journal Vouchers for accuracy and compliance.
• Apply SFIS for proper financial data classification and traceability.
• Analyze and resolve Treasury Tie-Point discrepancies and abnormal balances.
• Support audit readiness initiatives with documentation, testing, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance internal controls and financial processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Active Secret clearance or higher
• Must be local to Washington, D.C. metro area and work onsite 3 days/week
• Minimum 8 years in financial management/accounting, preferably federal/defense.
• Experience with general ledger, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Understanding of budgetary-to-proprietary relationships in federal ledgers.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• CPA or CPA candidate.
• Experience in senior federal/defense financial offices or audit readiness.
• Familiarity with enterprise financial systems and data standardization.
• Skills in automation, analytics, and relationship management.
