What you will do

  • Lead and manage the Transportation Design Division, including project managers and design staff
  • Oversee multiple transportation design projects for quality, schedule, and budget performance
  • Serve as senior client contact and drive business development efforts
  • Collaborate with leadership to grow the division and expand market presence
  • Mentor staff, foster team culture, and ensure QA/QC processes
  • Balance strategic leadership with hands-on project oversight

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license for North Dakota required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 10+ years in transportation design or related infrastructure
  • Experience managing teams and leading complex projects
  • Strong project management skills (budgeting, scheduling, QA/QC)
  • Experience with NDDOT and/or public agency clients
  • Proficiency in relevant design and production tools
  • Valid driver’s license; able to pass criminal background and driving record review

Nice to have

  • Experience leading a division or specialty group in an engineering firm
  • Track record of implementing new tools, processes, or innovations
  • Active involvement in industry organizations or technical committees
  • Business development experience with proposals and client engagement
  • Experience across multiple offices or disciplines
