TL;DR

Lead Field Technician (Critical Infrastructure): Leading field execution for hyperscale and colocation data center construction projects ranging from 40 MW to 200 MW with an accent on trade coordination, schedule adherence, and safety enforcement. Focus on resolving real-time field conflicts, enforcing QA/QC, and managing risks in high-stakes environments.

Location: Must relocate to or live in Atlanta GA, Amarillo TX, Lubbock TX, Big Spring TX, Fort Worth TX, Dallas TX, El Paso TX, or Las Cruces NM with full-time daily presence at assigned project site.

Salary: 99,750 - 120,225 USD per year

What you will do

  • Lead day-to-day field execution for assigned scopes, zones, or workstreams, directing field crews and coordinating subcontractors across trades including electrical, mechanical, automation, and networking.
  • Develop 2-3 week look-ahead schedules, track progress and productivity, and enforce QA/QC to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Enforce safety policies (OSHA, NFPA 70E), lead toolbox talks, verify compliance with JHAs and permits, and stop work for unsafe conditions.
  • Provide daily updates to Site Superintendent, prepare field reports, interface with GC supervision and trade leads, and capture lessons learned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6-8 years experience in field execution in mission-critical, hyperscale, or complex MEP construction
  • Demonstrated experience directing field crews and coordinating subcontractors
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety practices, quality control, and ability to interpret drawings, specs, and schedules
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, high-risk activities, and proficiency with tools like Procore, BIM 360
  • Valid driver’s license, REAL ID or passport, up to 25% travel, willingness for extended hours/night shifts
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Engineering, or related; equivalent experience considered
