Salary: $63,260 - $79,075 USD

What you will do

• Communicate with brokers via phone and email to address account questions and issues
• Handle a blend of new and renewal business
• Evaluate increasingly complex applications using underwriting guidelines, rules, standards, and authority to accept, reject, or mitigate risk, and determine premiums, limits, and coverages
• Approve or decline applications within limits, issue coverage, and prepare referrals for risks exceeding authority
• Document underwriting files with risk analysis and pricing justification
• Utilize databases and specialized software to gather data, verify submissions, and ensure accurate policy pricing

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 3-5 years of underwriting or related insurance experience
• Ability to independently evaluate risk and make determinations
• Strong customer service experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn industry-specific software
• Ability to collaborate with teams and work independently, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice to have

• Working towards Property & Casualty Brokers License
• Experience with IMS/Netrate platforms
• Experience working with AI agents such as Co-pilot, Claude
