What you will do

• Develop relay settings and protection philosophies for distribution equipment including transformers, bus, and distribution feeders.
• Review protection and control design packages.
• Provide remote field support to relay test engineers during the installation of settings.
• Model electrical systems using power simulation programs like CAPE, ASPEN, and CYME.
• Create accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations.
• Mentor and train less experienced engineers in power engineering theories and principles.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering, preferably electrical or computer engineering.
• 5+ years of experience developing relay settings and protection philosophies for transmission, sub-transmission, or distribution equipment.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering theories and principles.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineering (PE) license in at least one state.
• Experience with 69kV viper recloser applications.
• Experience with IEC 61850 communication protocol.
• Experience developing settings for Schweitzer relays.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
