Location: US candidates must be based in the USA and work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours; UK candidates must have the right to work in the UK; Nairobi, Kenya. Travel up to 50% required, including to underdeveloped countries.
Compensation: $85,000 – $115,000 (US) / £57,444 – £67,018 (UK)

What you will do
- Lead the design and execution of dynamic, risk-based audit programs focusing on financial controls and compliance.
- Provide strategic insights from audit findings to support senior management decision-making.
- Build cross-functional consensus across departments to strengthen internal controls and financial accountability.
- Review audit work for quality and financial accuracy, ensuring adherence to professional standards.
- Monitor and validate the implementation of corrective action plans (CAPs) to address deficiencies.
- Continuously improve audit processes using new tools and data-driven approaches.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of financial audit or financial management experience.
- Experience working in Not-for-Profit, INGO, or grant-supported organizations.
- Proficiency in GAAP, COSO Internal Control Framework, and risk management principles.
- US Remote: Must work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.
- UK Candidates: Must have the right to work in the UK.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications: CPA/CA, CIA, or CFE.
- Experience with PowerBI and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of IRC Business Processes and Financial Systems.
