Senior Manager, Operations

TL;DR

Senior Manager, Operations (AI & Automation): Hands-on ownership of day-to-day operations across finance, IT, HR, and systems with an accent on using AI-enabled workflows and automation for efficiency and scale. Focus on identifying opportunities, piloting tools, implementing solutions, and building scalable systems.

Location: San Francisco, CA with hybrid schedule – three days in the office per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday), remote flexibility otherwise. In-office work begins in September 2026.

Base Salary: $163,000–$182,000 + up to 10% performance bonus

What you will do

• Identify AI opportunities, design workflows, evaluate and implement tools to reduce manual work and champion operational innovation.
• Oversee IT support via managed service provider, manage software stack including renewals, vendors, licenses, and procurement.
• Support finance operations: budgeting, expense tracking, accounts payable, vendor relationships, contracts, and invoicing.
• Manage HR infrastructure: onboarding, offboarding, leaves, payroll, benefits, compliance, data integrity, and hiring support.
• Build systems that scale across operations to avoid repeating problems and enable greater impact.

Requirements

• 3-8 years in operations, chief of staff, or related experience, ideally at startup or early- to mid-stage org.
• Track record with AI or automation initiatives delivering real efficiency.
• Comfort with financial basics: budget tracking, expense management, reporting.
• Strong project management, reliability, systems thinking, and generalist skills across HR, systems, finance.
• Clear, confident communication with diverse audiences.
