Warren, Michigan. Hybrid role: expected to report to location at least 3 times a week. Travel <25% to vendor and manufacturing sites. No immigration sponsorship (H1-B, OPT, etc.). This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

What you will do
- Collaborate on standardized controls requirements for machining automation.
- Provide on-site debug, validation, and launch support at OEM and GM facilities.
- Evaluate and approve supplier designs, control architectures, and technical changes.
- Develop strategies for legacy equipment and new technology in machining.
- Lead problem resolution, mentor teams, and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Support automation for engines, transmissions, eMotors, castings, and battery programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years in controls and automation in manufacturing.
- Exceptional knowledge of CNC-based controls and systems.
- Hands-on troubleshooting of machining automation in plants/OEMs.
- Experience with PLC hardware/software and robotics integration.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
Nice to have
- 10+ years supporting Manufacturing Engineering in GM plants.
- Broad experience with suppliers, OEMs, and multiple machining applications.
- Advanced servo knowledge and success in standardization/reliability improvements.
