Cyber Security Consultant

Location: Hybrid, based in Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester or Bristol, with at least two days per week or 40% of working time at an office

Salary: £72,702–£80,780 per year

What you will do

• Develop and design secure solutions and produce security design documentation covering relevant controls.
• Deconstruct solution and network architectures to assess their security.
• Identify and mitigate threats and vulnerabilities using industry practices such as STRIDE and MITRE.
• Translate threats into risks and support assessments of likelihood and business impact.
• Communicate technical security concepts and designs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Evaluate competing security design options while contributing to multiple challenging projects.

Requirements

• Broad knowledge of cyber security domains and controls across a range of computing platforms.
• Ability to produce and articulate security designs for project and business stakeholders.
• Ability to assess the soundness of solutions and balance security risks against benefits.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to varied audiences.
• Comfort working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Awareness of ISO 27000, PCI DSS, COBIT, NIST, or OWASP standards.
• CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CEH, OSCP, or equivalent certifications.
• Experience with public or private cloud environments.
