Senior IT Security Consultant (Cybersecurity)

Location: Leeds, United Kingdom. UK-based travel is required for projects. Must have the right to work in the UK and be able to attain UK Security Clearance.

What you will do

• Support the UK business and customers in defining, improving, and managing security posture.
• Identify, assess, treat, and monitor IT security risks and conduct threat assessments.
• Design and help implement proportionate security controls and secure-by-design systems.
• Develop security metrics, technical documentation, reports, and assurance activities.
• Conduct security audits, control tests, and compliance activities against national and international standards.
• Support incident response, security helpdesk activities, and security awareness across the organisation and customer teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience in IT security and delivering security improvements within a large organisation.
• Knowledge of GDPR, privacy by design, security frameworks, and standards such as ISO 27001, CE+, COBIT, and NIST 800-53.
• Experience with security by design, DevSecOps, IT architecture, networking, databases, and operating systems.
• Knowledge of NCSC cloud security principles and experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Right to work in the UK and ability to attain UK Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated industries, UK Defence, or government departments.
• Knowledge of HM Government standards and processes, including NCSC Guidance, GovS007, SAF, JSP 440, and JSP 453.
• Certifications such as CISMP, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM, or equivalent experience.
