TL;DR

AI Data Engineer (Python/Azure): Building and maintaining scalable data pipelines for ML and LLM applications with an accent on AI-assisted workflows and productivity enhancements. Focus on designing data models for AI, implementing agentic workflows, and optimizing ETL/ELT processes using Spark and Azure.

What you will do

  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Spark, Databricks, and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Design data models specifically optimized for analytics, ML, and AI applications.
  • Drive the adoption of AI tools and agentic workflows within the data engineering team.
  • Prototype and scale AI-assisted development practices to increase engineering efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Product, Data Science, ML/AI, and DevOps teams to ensure data quality and observability.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for AI experimentation and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial experience in data engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for development and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with Spark/PySpark and Azure Data Platforms (ADF, Synapse, ADLS, Event Hub).
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or ADF.
  • Proven experience using AI coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) and delivering at least one AI-assisted project.
  • English: Upper Intermediate (B2) level for effective communication.
  • Location: Must be based in Europe or Ukraine.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with LLMs, embeddings, RAG architectures, and vector databases (pgvector, FAISS).
  • Experience with AI/agent frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex.
  • Experience with dbt, Kafka, or various BI tools.
  • Knowledge of data quality tooling such as Great Expectations or Soda.
  • Multi-cloud experience (AWS/GCP).
