What you will do

• Build the data center operations function from zero, moving the company from rented capacity to owned physical infrastructure.
• Own white space fit-out and commissioning of new high-performance computing (HPC) clusters.
• Establish and manage smart hands and break-fix functions, including hiring, playbooks, and the operating model.
• Manage relationships and hold vendors and integrators (Supermicro, NVIDIA, etc.) to schedule and specifications.
• Own technical decisions on white space, including rack layout, cooling topology, cable plant, and power redundancy.
• Partner with network engineering on InfiniBand and other interconnects to ensure scalable standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience deploying over 10MW of data center capacity.
• Deep expertise in the architecture and design of interconnected supercomputing/HPC clusters.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the OEM and colo provider market, including capacity and pricing trends.
• Technical proficiency in white space components: PDUs, CDUs, busway, in-row cooling, and high-density power.
• Ability to thrive in chaotic environments and meet ambitious deadlines.
