TL;DR

Sr. FPGA Design Engineer (Aerospace): Designing FPGA digital logic for flight computers and air-to-air RADAR in autonomous aviation systems with an accent on safety-critical development, signal processing, and hardware integration. Focus on architecting fixed-point DSP algorithms, simulation, synthesis, and verification to enable product certification and high-reliability autonomy stack.

Location: Seattle, WA; Remote. This position requires U.S. export control compliance; must be a U.S. person or eligible for export authorization. Employees in Mountain View, CA or Seattle, WA expect little travel.

Salary: $215K – $300K base + equity

What you will do

  • Design FPGA requirements, digital logic, simulation, synthesis, and integration for flight computer and RADAR systems.
  • Support hardware integration, testing, and multiple FPGA projects aligned with the technology roadmap.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with peer reviews to maintain high product quality in embedded systems team.
  • Contribute to dependable computing, networking, signal processing, and motor control solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 8+ years full-cycle electronics hardware development experience.
  • Professional FPGA digital logic design using industry-standard tools for design, simulation, and synthesis.
  • U.S. export control compliance: U.S. person status or eligible for authorization; documentation required.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Proven product ownership including field support.
  • Safety-critical FPGA development (DO-254 level A/B).
  • Experience architecting, implementing, verifying fixed-point DSP algorithms.
  • Comfort with fast-paced, agile development.
