Director of HRIS & Payroll (UKG): Own the organization’s HCM/HRIS system UKG end-to-end and execute compliant payroll across multi-entity, multi-state portfolio with an accent on configuration, architecture, and scalability for frequent acquisitions. Focus on designing workflows, integrating new modules, automating compliance monitoring, and maintaining audit-ready operations under rapid growth.

Compensation: $115K - $140K

What you will do

• Serve as system owner for UKG Pro (HCM, Payroll, Workforce Management), leading configuration strategy, architecture, workflows, and integrations.
• Execute and transition bi-weekly multi-state payroll to offshore team while retaining final sign-off and oversight.
• Ensure multi-state compliance, tax filings, audits, and worker classification across 40 states.
• Build reporting infrastructure, dashboards, and data integrity standards in UKG Pro BI.
• Integrate acquired companies into UKG, designing scalable configurations to handle growth without sprawl.
• Partner with HR, Finance, IT, Legal, and M&A teams on system optimization and roadmap execution.

Requirements

• 5+ years hands-on UKG Pro and Workforce Management experience (configuration, administration, integrations, BI reporting) — non-negotiable.
• 10+ years progressive payroll and HRIS experience in multi-state, multi-entity environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, Information Systems, or related.
• Multi-state payroll tax compliance fluency (SUI, SIT, garnishments, ACA, withholding).
• Hands-on payroll execution capability and strong SOP/process discipline.
• Experience in high-growth or acquisition-driven organizations.

Nice to have

• Experience leading UKG implementations or major module builds.
• Managing offshore/distributed payroll teams.
• Private equity-backed roll-up environments and 1099-heavy workforces.
• CPP or equivalent certification.
