Salary: $118,700 - $169,800 USD

What you will do

  • Lead the management of facility health and safety programs, processes, and policies, ensuring OSHA VPP compliance.
  • Manage the safety training program, ensuring all employees are educated on safety bulletins and health procedures.
  • Oversee contractor safety performance, ensuring proper training and use of equipment.
  • Conduct frequent field safety reviews to identify unsafe behaviors and provide real-time coaching.
  • Investigate near-misses and injuries, performing root cause analyses and tracking corrective actions to completion.
  • Coordinate with the health clinic for annual physicals, hearing tests, and respirator evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, health, or a science-related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of safety leadership experience.
  • 5 years of Occupational Health and Safety experience specifically in a Power Plant or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 regulations.
  • Ability to work onsite in Dickerson, MD and perform physical tasks including climbing ladders and wearing respirators.

Nice to have

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
