Location: Hybrid in Atlanta or South San Francisco

Compensation: $100K – $130K + Equity

What you will do

• Create assembly, build, and wiring documentation for autonomous tractor platforms, including illustrated instructions and torque specifications.
• Develop field servicing and maintenance guides, covering inspection procedures, fault diagnosis, and repair workflows.
• Write hardware bring-up and integration guides, including commissioning procedures and sensor calibration workflows.
• Produce operator-facing documentation, including user manuals, safety notices, and onboarding materials.
• Build and manage a scalable documentation system with defined version control and naming conventions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to create visual aids, annotated diagrams, and software-facing API references.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a technical writer in hardware-centric industries such as robotics, automotive, or aerospace.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring schematics, and engineering specifications.
• Experience creating tailored documentation for diverse audiences, from engineers to end-users.
• Proficiency with documentation tools like Confluence or Notion and familiarity with version control.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Atlanta or South San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience documenting autonomous vehicles, mobile robots, or aviation ground support equipment.
• Familiarity with structured authoring and single-sourcing documentation strategies.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator or Figma for creating illustrated technical documentation.
• Experience working at an early-stage startup building infrastructure from scratch.
