AI Engagement Lead (Automotive)

TL;DR

AI Engagement Lead (Automotive/Manufacturing): Leading the design, delivery, and adoption of AI, analytics, and training solutions to transform plant and electrical data into actionable insights with an accent on manufacturing efficiency and quality. Focus on architecting scalable AI/ML and BI solutions, improving electrical first-time quality (EFTQ), and implementing data pipelines based on Medallion architecture.

Location: Onsite in Warren, Michigan. Role requires up to 70% domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of end-to-end AI, ML, and BI solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency and overall operational performance.
• Build trust-based relationships with plant stakeholders and provide hands-on training to accelerate the adoption of AI and analytics tools.
• Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and models aligned with the Medallion architecture.
• Develop Power BI dashboards and reports to provide plant and leadership teams with clear, actionable insights.
• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to detect trends, predict failures, and reduce defects on the manufacturing floor.
• Collaborate with Global Manufacturing Engineering to shape centralized strategies, roadmaps, and governance.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and complex data modeling.
• Proven experience with ETL processes and data transformation from raw data to curated models.
• Strong proficiency in Power Query (M), DAX, and paginated reports.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex analysis to non-technical stakeholders.
• Must have existing US work authorization; no immigration sponsorship is provided.
• Willingness to travel at least 50-70% on a frequent basis.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of data analytics or BI development experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks.
• Vehicle program launch or vehicle assembly manufacturing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering.
