What you will do
- Lead day-to-day operations and overall strategy for IRC Canada's market entry and establishment.
- Oversee the entity set-up workplan across legal, finance, people and culture, governance, and operations.
- Develop a cohesive institutional engagement strategy to grow the pipeline of public and private donors.
- Serve as the primary institutional voice and advocate for IRC programming with GAC and other policy platforms.
- Build and lead high-performing teams in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.
- Ensure the organization meets all statutory, regulatory, and governance obligations, including CRA requirements.
Requirements
- 15+ years of leadership experience in an international NGO, humanitarian organization, or government.
- Proven ability to win and steward large public and private grants and influence policy change.
- Track record of institutional engagement and business development within the Canadian donor landscape.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required.
- Deep substantive knowledge of humanitarian programming and sector reform.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to deliver results in conditions of ambiguity.
Nice to have
- Existing senior relationships across GAC and the Canadian humanitarian ecosystem.
- Prior experience working within or alongside the IRC global structure.
- Understanding of Quebec dynamics and the francophone Canadian context.
- Experience as a board member or in a governance role within a registered Canadian charity.
