What you will do

• Develop and evolve network standards strategies in partnership with stakeholders to align with business objectives.
• Lead and coordinate a global virtual community of standards contributors, tracking activities and ensuring impact.
• Maintain points of contact and visibility into hirify.global's participation in Standards Development Organizations (SDOs).
• Identify gaps in standards engagement and recommend enhancements for comprehensive coverage.
• Manage SDO memberships and drive coordinated strategies across key organizations like ITU-T SG15, OIF, IETF.
• Provide insights on emerging standards trends and implications for technology investments and product roadmaps.

Requirements

• 10+ years leading and contributing to international standards in data communications and optical networking.
• Demonstrated contributions in ITU-T SG15, OIF, IETF, IEEE 802.1, or IEEE 802.3.
• Experience leading or managing standards teams, including virtual models.
• Strong ability to align standards with business/technology strategy and drive outcomes.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in hardware/software product development for networking equipment (Layer 0-3).
• Leadership roles in SDOs like chair or specification editor.
• Knowledge of IP policies and patents in standards environments.
• Business acumen or product management experience.
• Navigating multi-SDO landscapes and building consensus with industry/government.
• Understanding diverse cultural dynamics for standards development.
