What you will do

• Design and build production systems across the full stack, including embedded/IoT, Node.js backend, AWS, and Databricks.
• Lead the technical expansion into new markets, developing new hardware use cases and ML-powered detections.
• Architect agentic development infrastructure, including AI agents, skills, and templates, to increase engineering velocity and quality.
• Coach engineers through complex architectural decisions via design pairing and substantive code reviews.
• Partner with Product teams to determine and execute the most impactful technical bets for product growth.

Requirements

• 12+ years of engineering experience with recent hands-on building and shipping systems.
• Hands-on depth in at least three areas: embedded/IoT, backend services, AWS, event-driven architectures, mobile, or data platforms.
• Proven track record of shaping org-level technical direction through shipped systems and tooling rather than mandates.
• Strong perspective on leveraging AI coding tools to improve team productivity and architectural quality.
• Must be based in the US or Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, IoT, or regulated environments (HIPAA, PHI, safety-critical systems).
• Background in computer vision, ML pipelines, radar, or real-time inference systems.
• Experience with Databricks or similar data platform infrastructure.
• History of building developer tooling and internal developer experience (DevEx) infrastructure.
