What you will do

  • Underwrite annuities and investment bonds, aligning decisions with policies, risk appetite, and regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments reviewing financial, medical, and lifestyle data to determine eligibility and terms.
  • Analyze complex cases, escalate as needed, and provide recommendations to senior underwriters.
  • Collaborate with actuarial, compliance, operations teams and external stakeholders for case progression.
  • Maintain documentation for audits and contribute to process improvements using data and technology.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and support team training on best practices.

Requirements

  • Extensive underwriting experience in insurance, ideally annuities and investment bonds.
  • Familiarity with FCA, PRA, Solvency II frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills for complex data interpretation.
  • Effective communication to explain decisions to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, underwriting systems, and digital tools.
  • Collaborative mindset with integrity and commitment to compliance.
