What you will do

  • Design and develop rocket motor ignitors, detonators, AFTS destruct charges, and linear shaped charges.
  • Lead the architecture and detailed design of ignition and ordnance hardware and their integration with vehicle systems.
  • Perform thermal, structural, and energetic performance analyses for extreme environments.
  • Plan and execute ground test campaigns, analyzing results to drive design improvements.
  • Collaborate with propulsion, avionics, and safety teams to ensure seamless vehicle architecture integration.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to propulsion and ordnance design best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science.
  • 5+ years of experience in propulsion, ignition systems, or ordnance design for aerospace or defense.
  • Strong background in rocket motor ignitors, detonators, and explosive devices like shaped charges.
  • Proficiency in analysis and modeling tools such as MATLAB or ANSYS.
  • Experience with hardware build, integration, and troubleshooting in lab/test environments.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
