Location: Remote in Canada (excluding Quebec). Candidates local to Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto are expected to be in office minimum two days per week.

Salary: $116,500 – $157,500 CAD

What you will do

• Optimize, maintain, and evolve MySQL infrastructure to support high-performance, mission-critical applications.
• Collaboratively define the database roadmap to align with business goals and application requirements.
• Investigate and resolve complex performance problems with MySQL databases and other data stores.
• Scope and implement automation and processes to enhance the reliability of data stores.
• Develop and share MySQL expertise with the wider SRE team.

Requirements

• Experience investigating and solving database performance problems.
• Strong ability to optimize query performance.
• Proven track record of successful projects and a drive to fix root causes.
• Must be based in Canada (excluding Quebec).
• Local candidates (Burnaby, Calgary, Toronto) must be available for hybrid office work.

Nice to have

• Experience with migration tools such as pt-online-schema-change or gh-ost.
• Proficiency with Puppet, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Ruby, Golang, or Bash.
• Knowledge of AWS resources via Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with ProxySQL and the Percona toolkit.
