(SpringWater team) is a small international team focused on scaling a strong SaaS product in the affiliate marketing software space.
What you will do
- Build and maintain backend features, including APIs, background jobs, and integrations.
- Improve and maintain data pipelines using PostgreSQL and BigQuery to ensure accurate affiliate data.
- Develop internal dashboards for revenue attribution, payout summaries, and cohort breakdowns.
- Identify and fix performance bottlenecks and optimize slow database queries.
- Work asynchronously with a small team, taking full ownership of features from build through monitoring.
- Provide high-level technical support by running custom scripts and debugging client-specific issues.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, or solid Python/TypeScript skills with a genuine willingness to learn the stack.
- Advanced SQL skills for writing and optimizing complex queries in production PostgreSQL and BigQuery environments.
- Experience building REST APIs and background job systems (e.g., Sidekiq, Celery).
- Experience creating internal business-facing data products and reports.
- Must be based in Europe.
Nice to have
- Background in data or analytics engineering, specifically with event tracking or conversion data.
- Familiarity with dbt (data build tool) for maintaining data transformation models.
