R&D Bioinformatician Lead

Location: Parma, Italy, based at the headquarters with hybrid working arrangements including in-person and remote work.

What you will do

• Lead and execute hands-on bioinformatics analyses supporting target identification and translational research.
• Own the methodology for bioinformatics approaches, selecting and implementing appropriate pipelines, tools, and workflows.
• Support target identification and validation across biological and clinical datasets while coordinating external collaborations.
• Define bioinformatics activities with translational leads and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Interpret complex datasets and communicate data-driven findings to cross-functional teams.
• Contribute evidence to publications, regulatory documents, and internal presentations.

Requirements

• PhD or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
• Biomedical experience and at least 5 years of hands-on experience working with biological and clinical datasets.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python.
• Experience with bioinformatics tools and workflows, including RNA-seq, pathway analysis, and NGS data.
• Ability to work independently in a matrix organization and collaborate effectively with functional leads.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to drive consensus across cross-functional teams.
