TL;DR

Senior Autonomous Flight Termination System Hardware Engineer (Aerospace): Designing and delivering high-reliability flight safety electronics and pulsed power systems for long-range hypersonic strike vehicles with an accent on electronic safe and arm devices (ESADs) and fault-tolerant hardware. Focus on developing robust initiation and firing circuits, performing system-level modeling, and executing qualification and flight test plans.

Location: U.S. citizenship is required (due to security clearance requirements). Onsite work indicated by facility perks.

Company

hirify.global is an early-stage defense company developing advanced hypersonic strike systems focused on technical excellence and rapid execution.

What you will do

  • Design pulsed power electronics for flight termination, including high-voltage energy storage and switching.

  • Develop redundant and fault-tolerant initiation and firing circuits to ensure deterministic performance.
  • Collaborate with avionics, GNC, and flight software teams to integrate AFTS hardware with vehicle systems.
  • Perform circuit and system-level modeling and analysis using SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Define and execute environmental and flight test plans, performing failure analysis and root cause investigation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in pulsed power, high-voltage, or firing systems for aerospace or defense applications.
  • U.S. citizenship is required; must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • Proficiency in circuit design and simulation tools such as SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience designing for EMI/EMC, thermal performance, and extreme environments.
  • Strong background in safety-critical hardware, redundancy, and fault-tolerant design principles.

Culture & Benefits

  • Meaningful long-term equity in a high-growth trajectory.
  • Comprehensive health benefits, including dental and vision plans.
  • Four weeks of paid time off and ten company-paid holidays.
  • Onsite perks: catered meals, fully stocked kitchen, and EV charging.
