What you will do

• Architect and design electrical systems including flight avionics, BMS, solar charging, and CAN/RS-485 networks.
• Develop manufacturable hardware qualified for low pressure, wide thermal excursions, and radiation.
• Manage power budgets for day/night mission profiles and fault-tolerant operations.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead rigorous board checkout and validation processes.
• Collaborate with firmware and software teams to integrate telemetry and autonomous safe-state behavior.
• Partner with manufacturing to ensure DFM/DFT and supply chain stability.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of professional electrical engineering experience with ownership of hardware from concept to deployment.
• Deep expertise in mixed-signal PCB design and proficiency with Altium Designer.
• Hands-on experience with motor control electronics (BLDC/stepper) and power electronics (DC-DC, BMS).
• Proven track record of board bring-up and validation using lab instrumentation.
• Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident and located near Denver, CO.

Nice to have

• Experience with stratospheric, space, or UAV systems.
• Knowledge of radiation effects (TID, SEE) and mitigation strategies for COTS electronics.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards such as IPC Class 3, AS9100, MIL-STD-810, or MIL-STD-461.
• Proficiency in Python, C, or embedded firmware for test scripting.
• Experience with 48 V battery systems in low-pressure environments.
