Sr. Structural Engineer - Dallas

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States. Field work required including climbing ladders, accessing confined spaces, rooftops, and scaffolds. Approximately 25% overnight travel.

What you will do

• Prepare as-built drawings from existing buildings and develop drawings/specifications per building codes.
• Evaluate structural systems in damaged/aging buildings and lead investigations for repairs.
• Conduct field assessments using ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and rooftops as needed.
• Research codes, identify upgrades, and complete designs for maintenance/restoration.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and lead project delivery; mentor junior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Active PE license or ability to obtain within 1 month; minimum 10 years experience.
• Strong knowledge of structural systems, load calculations, material selection, and analysis.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; client-facing experience with presentations and proposals.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to manage multiple projects and work independently/collaboratively.
• Comfort with physical demands: standing, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, site inspections.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with BIM.
• Experience with scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and construction administration.
