Control Systems Engineer (Manufacturing): Lead and coordinate an engineering team to design, develop, integrate, and test machine electronic control systems for Large Mining and Off-Highway Truck applications with an accent on electronic architectures and autonomous related technologies. Focus on creating technical specifications, resolving system integration issues, managing software releases, and coordinating test plan development and validation activities.

Location: Onsite required five days a week in Mossville, IL; Tucson, AZ; or Irving, TX (United States). Domestic relocation assistance available. Up to 20% travel. Sponsorship offered.

Salary: $97,530 - $146,290

What you will do

• Lead creation of technical specifications and integration documentation for machine systems using electronic/electrical components, ECMs, and software.
• Collaborate with machine system and sub-system teams to resolve design and integration issues during development and production.
• Report technical status to Cat Electronics teams and stakeholders.
• Support software releases, including documentation for field updates and customer needs.
• Coordinate software development with partners and product groups to meet schedules.
• Manage test plan development and system/software validation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience ensuring hardware/software requirements in embedded systems from low to high complexity.
• Knowledge of machine control specifications, mobile machine operation, and hirify.global electrical/electronic systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills using schematics.
• Decision making, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.
• Leadership, planning, and cross-organizational issue resolution abilities.

Nice to have

• Extensive experience developing complex electronic control systems.
• Experience with FMEA processes and electronic system failure modes.
• Demonstrated customer focus, analysis, and project management skills.
