Production Support Engineer (Broadcast): Troubleshooting and maintaining production systems for live news, sports, and entertainment broadcasts with an accent on audio/video workflows, signal flows in SDI and IP 2110 environments, and broadcast equipment reliability. Location: Onsite five days per week at Englewood Cliffs, NJ; New York, NY; Washington DC; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA. Must be willing to work rotational shifts, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Salary: $100,000 - $130,000

What you will do
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues in live broadcasts across studios, control rooms, distribution, automation, master control, and related equipment.
- Support production systems at Englewood Cliffs, NJ; New York, NY; remote sites in Washington DC, LA, and San Francisco.
- Maintain broadcast technology integrity, including HDSDI, IP 2110, audio formats (AES, MADI, AES67, Ravenna, Dante), video switchers, routers, encoders/decoders.
- Act as on-call engineer, prioritizing on-air issues to minimize disruptions, document resolutions, and escalate as needed.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to optimize workflows in fast-paced 24/7 environment.
- Analyze complex audio/video workflows, signal flows, virtualized systems (VMs, containers), networking, and storage infrastructures.
Requirements
- 2+ years recent experience supporting live television production environments.
- Knowledge of HDSDI/embedded audio, discrete audio formats (AES, MADI), AES67, Ravenna, Dante.
- Experience with video production systems: switchers, routers, encoders/decoders, studio equipment.
- Strong TCP/IP, computer networking, storage infrastructures; digital signal workflows.
- Detailed knowledge of master control, compression, uplink systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in film production, Broadcasting, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Ability to work alone or in team, client-focused in high-pressure live settings.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Evertz products (Magnum, EXE, Routers, SDVN, VUE, VIP), SMPTE 2110, SONY switchers/cameras, VizRT, Ross, Chyron.
- Experience with transmission, fiber, encode/decode systems, cloud/VM platforms.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office, Windows, Linux, Mac OS, JIRA, Confluence.
- Ability to read AutoCAD drawings.
