Compositing Artist (VFX): Providing entry-level support to the Compositing department with an accent on 2D tracking, matte extraction, and color grading. Focus on maintaining shot uniformity and collaborating within a fast-paced live production environment.

Location: Hybrid in Vancouver. Must be a Canadian Citizen or hold Canadian Permanent Resident status

Salary: C$25.75 per hour

What you will do

• Evaluate creative and technical approaches for assigned shots in collaboration with Supervisors and Leads.
• Perform core compositing tasks including 2D tracking, matte extraction, layering, and color grading.
• Maintain consistent look, color balance, and quality across shots and sequences.
• Collaborate with artists from various disciplines to ensure high-quality final outputs.
• Implement professional habits for presenting work in dailies and effective team communication.

Requirements

• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Recent graduate from a relevant course (within the last 12 months) or up to two years of VFX experience.
• Proficiency with Nuke.
• Strong aesthetic skills in judging photorealism and color.
• Familiarity with Unix systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Ability to write Nuke gizmos and/or plugins.
• Experience with Python and/or C++.
• Deep passion for film and visual effects technology.
