Electrical Engineer I (Embedded Hardware)

Electrical Engineer I (Embedded Hardware): Support the design, development, testing, and integration of embedded electronic systems for unmanned maritime and sensor platform applications with an accent on schematic capture, PCB layout, and hardware integration. Focus on board bring-up, debugging, sensor integration, and prototype assembly in demanding operational environments.

Location: Onsite in West Palm Beach, FL. Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR/EAR restrictions, no sponsorship)

What you will do

• Assist with schematic capture and PCB layout using KiCad, Altium, Fusion 360, or similar tools
• Support development of embedded electronics, interface boards, component selection, and BOM generation
• Perform board bring-up, bench testing, debugging, and integration of sensors, GPS, radios, Ethernet, and embedded systems
• Assist with cable/connector verification, prototype assembly, lab testing, and field-testing
• Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting, and document test results and engineering changes

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence required (ITAR/EAR, no sponsorship)
• Internship, academic project, or co-op experience in electronics design
• Basic analog/digital circuit knowledge, familiarity with embedded hardware and PCB tools
• Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies) and soldering
• Understanding of protocols (UART, CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet) and exposure to microcontrollers
