Senior Hardware Product Manager (IoT)

TL;DR

Senior Hardware Product Manager (IoT): Designing and managing the physical layer of a healthcare operations platform, including beacons, tags, and gateways, with an accent on NPI cycles and factory management. Location: Must be based in New York City (4 days a week in office)

Salary: $160K – $180K + Equity

What you will do

• Define hardware roadmaps and write detailed specifications for beacons, tags, badges, and gateways.
• Collaborate closely with engineering on EVT failures, antenna placement, and battery drain optimization.
• Manage relationships with Chinese manufacturers, including visiting factories in Shenzhen to negotiate costs and ensure quality.
• Act as the bridge between hardware and software teams regarding firmware capabilities, BLE behavior, and OTA rollouts.
• Translate hospital requirements into hardware that maintains high performance in RF-noisy environments.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience shipping real hardware products through full NPI cycles.
• Deep technical knowledge of BLE, including advertising intervals, RSSI behavior, and multi-path issues.
• Proven experience working on-site with manufacturers in China.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and challenge enclosure design decisions.
• Must be based in New York City for regular office attendance.
• Willingness to travel to Shenzhen and Kraków as required.

Nice to have

• Experience with RTLS or UWB technologies.
• Experience deploying hardware in healthcare or other regulated environments.
