Control Systems Sr. Team Lead

TL;DR

Control Systems Sr. Team Lead (Mining Trucks): Lead and coordinate an engineering team to design, develop, integrate, and test machine electronic control systems for Large Mining and Off-Highway Truck applications with an accent on updates for production models and integration of electronic architectures and autonomous technologies. Focus on creating technical specifications and integration documentation, resolving system design issues, managing software releases and test plans.

Location: Onsite required five days a week in Mossville, IL; Tucson, AZ; or Irving, TX, United States. Domestic relocation assistance available; visa sponsorship offered. Up to 20% travel.

Salary: $147,760 - $221,640

What you will do

• Lead creation of technical specifications and integration documentation for machine systems using electronic/electrical components, ECMs, and software.
• Work with machine system and sub-system teams to resolve design and integration issues during development and production.
• Report technical status to Cat Electronics teams and stakeholders.
• Support software releases, including documentation for field updates and customers.
• Coordinate software development with partners and product groups to meet schedules.
• Manage test plan development and system/software validation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience ensuring completion of requirements analysis, producing functional models and documentation.
• Knowledge of structuring embedded systems, machine control specifications, mobile machine operations, and hirify.global electrical/electronic systems.
• Skills in decision making, critical thinking, effective communications, and technical excellence.
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot wiring issues from schematics.

Nice to have

• Extensive experience developing complex electronic control systems.
• Experience with FMEA processes and electronic system failure modes.
• Demonstrated leadership, planning, communication, customer focus, and cross-organizational issue resolution.
• Project planning, oversight, status tracking, and reporting skills.
